The Magic Touch

Apparently, it is no coincidence. Birds are attracted to beards. These "fables" and stories go way back to the ancient days. For you today, we have deciphered a passage using special instruments that I was most likely never supposed to lay my hands on. It reads:
There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said, "It is just as I feared!-Two Owls and a Hen, Four larks and a Wren, Have all built their nests in my beard."

Although the supposed "Old Man" never mentioned anything about blue birds, we can only assume this warning can be applied to them as well.

So far, day 13 was good to us. And by us I mean myself and the beard. Our grand total is up to $120 and change (give or take) and we are happy to see people excited about the cause. Due to popular requests, I will be allowing people to touch the beard for a limited time with donations of more than $5.
Once again, donations can be either paid in person to me, online through paypal or what I saw today, stuffed in the mini-me's shorts at front desk.
Thank you!

Floss.

Day twelve has resulted in a few new discoveries. The days of worrying about lettuce in the teeth are over. By simply tucking the bottom lip into my mouth I can floss my top teeth. Who knew that the 30 day beard challenge would actually have more great outcomes?

Donations through PayPal are coming through. Slowly but surely. And thank you again for all the support. There is a minor fee to all donations coming through paypal that use a credit card, so donations below 5 dollars will have to be declined.

The grand total at day 12 is up to $90.

Day Ten. Donate Online With PayPal

We have officially added a "PayPal Donate Button" to allow you to donate online. At this time we are unable to provide tax reciepts for donations of $5, but if you are donating a large amount, please include your information with your donation so we can submit the money to the charity on your behalf and make a request.
This is for a great cause, supporting the Stephen Lewis Foundation and the BC SPCA! 20 days left! Due to a rampant rumour about the beard, there has been no trimming. Its only a matter of time before it goes out of control.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

The Seven Day Itch

Through amazing technological advancements of modern science, we have a achieved another great feat that is sure to shake the globe. Fig.A demonstrates a rough composite/artists rendering of how the beard may appear at midway point. Apparently we were only able to compute midway as recommended by the experts due to the sheer magnitude that we have come to know as the 30 Day Beard Challenge.
I was quite disturbed by the results.
Today we have reached $65 and are not quite on par to reaching the goal. On the horizon we will attempt to add a PAYPAL donation button to help us out. As another bonus, the potential for last day "handle bars" if and only if the goal is reached will likely happen and there will surely be photographs to appear, disappear and reappear for eternity.
All beards aside, remember that this is for two great causes! Keep it up!

Day 5: The Hair Stylist

In best attempts to look less haggard, I made a quick treck to ye local barber shoppe on Day 5. The Hair Stylist pointed out that I looked like an evil doctor that once was on TV. I misunderstood and thought she was asking how much she should take off the top. I said ok. We didn't talk after that.

On my way home people were screaming "Go Oilers!" at me. I am sure they assumed this was your average run of the mill playoff beard and not the infamous 30 day beard variety. In show of my support I yelled out Go Oilers! They then pointed out to me that my face was sporting just a Goatee and not an actual beard. As they drove off into the distance I tried screaming out that the graphics were already made. But it was too late.

Okay. So its not a beard.

It was brought to my attention by many today that the growth on my face is in fact a "goatee" and not really a beard. However, the graphics have been made and this will continue to be...THE 30 DAY BEARD CHALLENGE! And besides all that, we don't want to disappoint Ben Affleck.

Day 2
The day has officially ended. It definitely was the most difficult day yet.
There is major itching and discomfort, and I can't quite see past it anymore but I am assuming it hides a rather large rash. We're still talking about the beard.

I had lunch outside again today - but chose the shady spot instead of my usual sunny location as to avoid severe tanlines in 30 days time. While eating, a small unusual bird flew dangerously close to my beard. He was probably attempting to grab my sandwich, but I had heart-stopping suspicion he may have been eyeing something else. I think its past mating season anyways. It might have been my imagination but I could have sworn I saw him wink at me in a moment we shared.
I will be a little more cautious eating outside from now on.

So far at the end of day two the beard cup has received 45 beard dollars and its still growing. Thank you very much for all that have supported the beard-a-thon so far!

It all began with a dream. about Ben Affleck.

Please join me in giving a warm welcome to a very special guest who has recently arrived at Wasserman and Partners. Introducing Graeme’s facial hair.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting it already, please stop by Graeme’s once soft and supple face and introduce yourself.
Don’t be alarmed if at first you are frightened, confused or taken aback. These reactions are all normal. And rest assured that Graeme has not morphed into Ben Affleck, nor has a small animal found it’s final resting place atop his chin. The fact remains, that no matter how frightening on the outside, he’s still our sweet, endearing Graeme on the inside.

In evidence of this, our sweet Graeme has generously agreed to grow his facial hair (of sorts) for a total of thirty (30) consecutive days.

Now some of you may be thinking, is this some sort of crazy organism cultivating project, or another one of his get rich quick schemes? The answer is no.

In fact, Graeme has kindly volunteered his beard to do some good for a change.
Over the next 30 days, Graeme will participate in a one man Beard-a-thon. He will be taking pledges (minimum of $5) throughout the 30 day period, with all proceeds going to the SPCA and the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Today is day 1 of his journey. We will post a donation box at Graeme’s desk. Please give generously. It’s a good cause – not to mention it’s super hot out and he’s already complaining that it’s really itchy. Plus, it also supplies an endless amount of inter-office entertainment and ridicule, to keep our minds off the fact that it is so beautiful outside.

Graeme and his beard thanks you for your support.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Note: Direct eye contact with the hair may result in the following symptoms: dizziness, nausea, cramping, rash, headaches, and a minor risk of random, unexplained discharge.
